etnies Singleton Vulc XLT Wear Test

The first impression: the etnies Singleton Vulc XLT

When I held the etnies Singleton Vulc XLT in my hand for the first time, I immediately noticed how light it is. For a modern skate shoe no special feature, because much emphasis is placed on low weight nowadays.

From the appearance, the Singleton XLT reminds me of a classic skate shoe from the 2000s. The timeless silhouette has convinced me directly. The upper is made of a mixture of suede and canvas and made a very solid impression.

The fit

The fit of the etnies Singleton Vulc XLT is normal. However, if you have quite wide feet, then I would advise you to buy the shoe half a size larger. After the first few sessions, the Singleton XLT has widened somewhat and adapted well to my foot shape. On a positive note, although the shoe has widened, I had a firm grip at all times in the Singelton Vulc XLT from etnies.

Performance

The Michelin sole of the etnies Singleton Vulc XLT offers excellent grip and has convinced me. After the sole softened after a few sessions, I had a good and secure board feeling.

The “Drop to the floor Pro Foam 2” footbed in the Singelton Vulc XLT is extra thick and provides enough cushioning. Even on primo landings, the sole cushioned the impact very well, so I came away pain-free.

Bottom line, I am very happy with the performance of the etnies Singleton Vulc XLT as it gave me enough stability, feel and security.

Technical features of the etnies Singleton Vulc XLT

The Singleton Vulc XLT from etnies is, despite its simple appearance, full of technical refinements and therefore offers good value for money.

The sole of the Singleton is inspired by the etnies Marana and has the well-known Michelin profile, which is known for its grip and durability. The elastic straps on the tongue provide stability and a lasting, good fit, even if the shoe widens a bit after a few sessions. The double vulcanized Foxing Tape provides some durability and board feel and the aforementioned “Drop to the floor Pro Foam 2” footbed provides the necessary cushioning.

Durability

I skated the shoe about 12-15 hours now and he shows very little wear so far. My skating consists of a mixture of street and transition, where I do more curb than flip tricks. The upper in the ollie area is roughened, but that is a normal occurrence after a few hours. The sole has worn only slightly so far and promises a very high longevity.

Conclusion

All in all, the etnies Singleton Vulc XLT is a very good, durable skate shoe that I will certainly ride again. For me, the Singleton offers everything a skate shoe should bring to the table: Comfort, durability, a grippy sole, stability and a sleek silhouette.
