Nike SB Dunk High Pro Gino Iannucci – A twist on the classic!

Seems like there is a never ending Dunk party going on at the Nike SB HQ. Hardly a week after the release of Kevin Terpening’s Dunk Elite, the brand dropped the remastered version of OG SB team rider Gino Iannucci’s first pro model, the Nike SB Dunk High Pro.

Who would have thought in 2002 that 15 years after the release of the first four Nike SB Dunk Pro shoes, the brand could literally raise the bar once again? Surely not Gino Iannucci, who’s a team rider of the first hour. So, after Reese Forbes and Richard Mulder already released their remastered Dunks this year, it was his turn to transform his Dunk Low into a high-top version.

Going with the original colourway, a mix of black suede and grayish blue perforated leather, the new Dunk High Pro looks not only elegant but also exactly like Gino’s expectations of a skate shoe. Only the silver Nike Swoosh has been slightly adjusted and is now no longer separated by stitching but mounted seamlessly on top of both panels.

“I just wanted to use colors I knew I’d actually wear and perforated leather I have always loved. The suede and leather combo seemed solid, so it was as simple as that.“

Since the Nike SB “15 Years of Dunk” series will come to an end this year, a hot candidate for the final Dunk Pro might be the Dunk Low by skate legend Danny Supa. His pro shoe is considered the foundation of the SB Dunks, which makes it the perfect nominee for the summit of the series. Suspense continues!
