Spot Check
In this clip, our
skatedeluxe Longboard team will tell you what the importance is of choosing the right spots for your next Longboard session. Whether you want to relax with a
cruiser board, try
Dancing or want to conquer a new mountain for extensive
Freeride Longboarding days, there are some things to consider in order to guarantee fun, safe and secured sessions!
Setup Check
In the third part of our
Longboard Basic Outdoor Guide, we go through the final checks you should take before you climb onto your
board. Checking the
trucks and
wheels is just as important as looking to see whether the road is not full of dirt. If you are wearing your
protective gear afterwards, you can finally get cracking with the first Rides!
Pushing & Braking
After the setup is checked, it is now time to show you how to properly push and brake with a
longboard. But before, it still needs to be clarified what is going on with the terms Goofy and Regular. If you then have a firm foot on the board and one leg does not wobble, you are ready to be pushed off, because you can also brake with that foot! If you can do this without your board shooting away like a rocket and you slamming to the ground, you can start with plenty of longboard fun!
Carving
The fifth and final Longboard Basic Outdoor Guide is about how carving works. With carving, Longboarding really begins, and if you already stand safely on the
board and everything works with pushing and braking, you’re ready for the next step. Correct posture is just as important as the way to shift your weight appropriately. With practice, the whole process should soon go as smooth as with our
skatedeluxe Longboard team!
