Wear Test: DC Plaza TC S – Love Park Forever!

The famous Love Park in the heart of Philadelphia is gone, but the memories will live on forever. With the Plaza TC S shoe, DC is continuing a legacy. I was very happy and excited to skate the DC Plaza. Let’s see what the shoe can do!

DC Plaza TC S

The words DC and Plaza remind me of the legendary DC team sessions around the Love park area in Philadelphia. DC is honouring this popular spot with the DC Plaza TC S shoe. The team, and exceptional talent Tiago Lemos, in particular, rip it hard with the Plaza TC. It’ll be interesting for you to see how the shoe performed on my feet.

Fit and Feel

“Right from the first time wearing this shoe, the wide toe area offered a good amount of comfort…”

With the DC Plaza TC S shoe, you’ll get a solid cup sole construction and a mixture of materials like velour in the toe cap area, canvas, smooth leather parts, as well as synthetic fabrics. Right from the first time wearing this shoe, the wide toe area offered a good amount of comfort, perfect for skateboarders with broader feet.

Typical for skate shoes with a cup sole construction, it felt a bit stiff and uncomfortable at the beginning. But after a few sessions, I got used to the shoe. From that point on, it was a pleasure to skate this shoe. Due to the cushioning around the heel area, the Plaza TC features a tight fit.

After a few intense sessions, the cupsole became more and more flexible, but the secure fit remained constant. From the combination of the cup sole construction and the removable Ortholite footbed, you can expect a high level of cushioning for high-impact skating. But you surely don’t have to worry about board feel, too! Watch Tiago Lemos feeling at home in both worlds: technical skateboarding and killing crazy gaps, rails and more street madness.

Durability

“The cup sole construction is really reliable and lasts as long as you need it.”

The DC Plaza TC S has all it needs to be called a solid and sturdy skate shoe. The cup sole construction is really reliable and lasts as long as you need it. But there’s a bitter taste to it. The Ollie area showed signs of wear in the form of a small hole pretty quickly. The cup sole, on the other hand, remained without unfazed throughout my test period. A main advantage of the DC Plaza is the shape stability, even after intense sessions. You can expect a good amount of comfort without losing boardfeel, grip or a solid fit.

Conclusion

“…you’ll get a reliable skate shoe that should meet all of your needs.”

All in all, the DC Plaza TC S stands the test in all categories and you’ll get a reliable skate shoe that should meet all of your needs. The only downside was the hole at the flick area of the shoe. But on the other hand, the Plaza impressed with outstanding cushioning and a comfortable and secure fit.
