The idea for Classic Griptape came from Canadian skateboarder Bob LaSelle. LaSelle, known from the videos of Montréal's Dime among others, doesn't take himself too seriously and this mood definitely resonates with his new brand Classic Griptape.

Besides the self-proclaimed "Worlds Best Griptape", Classic Griptape delivers streetwear and accessories with humorous designs and 90s references. In the skatedeluxe skateshop you can of course buy a selection of the current collection of Classic Griptape.

Since Classic Griptape is clearly by friends for friends, the brand works more as a loose collective and therefore has no permanent skate team. Besides founder Bob LaSelle, however, Dustin Henry, Alexis Lacroix and other Canadian skaters regularly appear in the entertaining clips of Classic Griptape.
