Already in the early years of skateboarding in the 1960s, many skaters swore by Converse All-Star. Even as skateboarding developed, the "Chucks" remained loyal companions for many skateboarders - among them Marty McFly in the Hollywood classic "Back to the Future".

In the 1980s, Converse launched its first advertising campaigns with a focus on skateboarding. The first skate team was formed in the 1990s. At that time, Converse also created shoe models specially designed for skating, such as Kenny Anderson's first Converse Pro shoe.

However, the project came to nothing and some time passed until in 2009 the skateboard series was relaunched under the label Converse CONS. This time they decided to put more emphasis on their own classics.

The focus of the Converse Skate Team is clearly on skateboarders who stand out more through extravagant video parts than through particularly impressive contest placements.
