DGK - for those who come from nothing
Dirty Ghetto Kids, that's what Stevie Williams and his crew were called by the other skaters at Love Park in Philadelphia. Stevie decided to start his own company in the early 2000s and keep the name Dirty Ghetto Kids, a.k.a. DGK. With authentic graffiti graphics on decks and clothing, as well as a top-notch team and influential videos, DGK is one of the most recognizable skateboard brands around. Everything can be underpinned with the "Best Team" award and the nomination for the "Best Skate Video" for Parental Advisory from Transworld SKATEboarding Magazine. In the skatedeluxe skate shop you can buy clothing and decks from DGK Skateboards online.
Dirty Ghetto Style - DGK Decks & Clothing
The decks and clothing from DGK Skateboards show how well influences from hip hop and street culture can be taken and integrated into designs. Be it stencil and graffiti styles or photo prints - DGK shows how well the two worlds can be combined. Whether it's a classic DGK logo or an elaborate design, DGK's creative graphics always stand out and have recognition value.
DGK's apparel often has a relaxed fit and makes an impression with high-quality prints and detailed designs. It shows what the DGK skate crew is all about. Money, jewelry, masks, cars and everything that belongs to street life is printed in a pop-cultural way on t-shirts, longsleeves, hoodies, jackets and accessories. Baggy fits and camo styles are of course not neglected in DGK clothing.
The pro and team decks from DGK are such classics that they belong in every skate shop. At skatedeluxe you can order DGK skate decks in different widths and designs online. Here, too, the influences that surround the team are clear to see. Expressive tags and graffiti, as well as the classic DGK logo and elaborate graphics adorn the skateboard decks and complete decks from DGK.
For beginners, DGK Skateboards offers various complete boards from small to standard sizes, without having to sacrifice quality. The DGK hardgoods are rounded off with a selection of DGK Skateboard wheels and griptape, which fit into the typical DGK designs. So if you're looking for a skateboard brand with plenty of hip hop style, DGK Skateboards is for you.
The DGK team
DGK Skateboards has had a top-notch team from the very beginning. The awarded "Best Skate Team" award from Transworld SKATEboarding Magazine is no coincidence. When Stevie Williams brought Josh Kalis on board in 2009, arguably Philadelphia's most influential Love Park skaters were back under one roof.
Completing the pro team are extremely talented skaters like Chaz Ortiz, Marquise Henry, Boo Johnson, John Shanahan, Dane Vaughn, Dwayne Fagundes and Kevin Bilyeu.
A brand for skaters who had nothing - the story of DGK
The slogan used by DGK "for those who come from nothing" goes back to Stevie Williams' roots. Stevie grew up in Philadelphia and like almost every skater there, he spent a lot of time in Love Park. The central spot in the city quickly became the second home of Stevie and his friends. In the local skate scene they soon got the name Dirty Ghetto Kids, a reference to the boys' origins, who come from the city's shady neighborhoods.
In the meantime, Stevie has realized the "American Dream" and the products of DGK are not only found in stores worldwide, but are also worn by rappers and celebrities like 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne or Justin Bieber. However, the label never lost touch with its roots and is still firmly anchored in the skateboard world.
