Birdhouse Skateboards - The story behind the cult brand

The cult brand with the memorable bird designs was founded in 1992 under the name Birdhouse Projects after the skate boom of the 80’s by vert legend Tony Hawk and freestyle skateboarder Per Werlinder. Tony Hawk, Steve Berra, Andrew Reynolds, Bucky Lasek and much more were among the best skate teams under the Birdhouse label. With the huge success of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, Birdhouse also gained worldwide recognition beyond the borders of the skate scene. Legendary video parts like The End and Feasters did their part to ensure that practically everyone in the 2000s had the Birdhouse name, team skaters and the deck designs from the cult brand on their screens.

Birdhouse will always be inseparable from Mr. 900 himself, Tony Hawk. Even now, he’s still considered to be the best-known and most successful skater in the world – which probably has something to do with the twelve World Championship titles, 16 X-Games podium places, landing the very first 900, the countless tricks he invented, and the iconic video game series. This brand can be seen on many of today’s modern pros. With Aaron "Jaws" Homoki, Ben Raybourn, David Loy, Shawn Hale, Clint Walker, Clive Dixon, Mike Davis, Lizzie Armanto, and Elliot Sloan, today's Birdhouse team is one of the best and most popular skate teams.
