OBEY Clothing, founded in 2001, is a natural extension of Shepard Fairey's art. The brand brings his visual language, DIY spirit and story to the street and integrates it into everyday life.

While these values remain central, OBEY Clothing is constantly evolving and always at the center of culture through designs, collabs, international collaborations and constant change.

OBEY's inspiration and attitude are deeply rooted in the ideals of punk rock, skateboarding and art. The brand defies easy categorization and instead moves between street and gallery.

FROM "ANDRÉ THE GIANT" STICKER TO OBEY CLOTHING

Shepard printed his first sticker in 1989. What began as a joke became an obsession. His stickers first appeared in Providence, Rhode Island, and quickly spread along the East Coast and beyond.

1995, he stylized the icon face based on the OG sticker, inspired by George Orwell, Russian Constructivism and Barbara Kruger's use of font and color. He revolutionized street art and was already committed to introducing skate culture and design into the art world – a point that remains a focus for OBEY Clothing to this day.
