The Idea Behind the Stance Brand

The five founders of the San Clemente-based company had the idea to devote themselves to a neglected area of fashion. Co-founder Jeff Kearl recalls how he moved through the various departments in a clothing store and in the sock department, he realized how boring the selection was.

The monotonous black, white, grey, and brown socks he found gave him the urge to mix things up a bit and bring some colour to the sock departments of the world. Thanks to his experience with the headphone manufacturer Skullcandy, he already had the know-how necessary to bring individuality and creativity into a largely monotonous product category. That's why Stance's socks often feature eye-catching designs and collaborations from a wide variety of brands and artists.

Stance Socks in Skateboarding

There are some really big names who swear by Stance socks, especially in the skateboarding world. Pros such as Nyjah Huston, Andrew Reynolds and Daniel Lutheran, all skate with Stance socks. For the best possible comfort, the brand developed its own performance skate socks. These are specifically designed to meet the needs of skaters and have a different anatomy than the lifestyle socks the brand offers.

With the Primo Cushioning Area on the footbed, the socks can better absorb hard landings. The upper part of the Stance Skate socks is made of breathable mesh. To protect your shins and Achilles tendon, these socks also have a Shin Pad and Anti Snakebite Padding. In addition, the toe and heel areas are stitched slightly differently than on the other Stance models to provide optimal support.

Stance's Classic Crew Models feature mid-rise socks that are athletically ribbed, feature medium padding and a reinforced heel and toe.

The special skate socks are the "The Pipe Bomb" Models. These have strong padding, a reinforced heel and toe area, ankle padding and impact protection over the shin.
