Tensor Trucks - you won't find lighter trucks
If you're looking for very lightweight skateboard trucks that are good at grinding, sliding, and are beyond versatile, you need a set of Tensor trucks. Tensor is the brand of skateboarding legend Rodney Mullen. No matter which terrain you want to buy new trucks for, Tensor surely has the right model.
From super light to versatile: the truck models from Tensor
In skatedeluxe skate shop you can shop different Tensor trucks. These differ both in design, weight and material composition. Note: due to the packaging, unlike many other trucks in our shop, you get always two Tensor trucks - so a complete set for your skateboard.
Tensor Aluminum trucks
These trucks have an aluminum alloy hanger that makes the trucks very light and quick to grind. Tensor Aluminum Trucks have the All Terrain Geometry which makes them extra versatile. This includes a deep-seated kingpin that prevents hang-ups and special Tensor bushings that make the trucks more stable.
The All Terrain Geometry trucks are suitable for street, park, vert but also freestyle and you can recognize them by the "All Terrain" in the product name, as well as the info in the product description.
Tensor Magnesium Light / Maglight trucks
Maglight trucks from Tensor are the lightest you can buy due to their magnesium hanger. Hollow kingpins and axles also contribute to the low weight. These features make the Tensor Magnesium Light trucks ideal for street, technical tricks and freestyle.
Maglights are available, like the Tensor Aluminums, in the All Terrain geometry or as a low version.
Tensor Alloys trucks
The perfect Tensor trucks for those who are just starting to skate, but also for advanced skaters. Tensor Alloys have aluminum alloy hangers and are already lighter than many comparable models from other manufacturers.
Shopping Tensor trucks with the right width
It's important that your new Tensor trucks fit your deck. Therefore, you should consider the axle width when you choose them. The axle width of your trucks should match the width of your deck, or they can deviate +/- 0.125″.
You can find the axle width of each truck in the skatedeluxe skate shop at the end of the respective product name or in the product description. Tensor 5.5″ All Terrain 8.25″ trucks fit a 8.25″ deck perfectly. The chart gives you an overview of our recommendations.

Tensor truck heights explained
Depending on the model, the trucks of Tensor have different heights. The higher the truck, the more agile the steering. This allows for tighter turns, or you can use larger wheels.
- Tensor Maglight Lows are 46mm high and are therefore considered low trucks. We recommend small wheels with a diameter of up to 51 or 52mm.
- The Alloys from Tensor are 51.5mm high and are so-called mid trucks. Medium sized wheels up to about 54mm fit accordingly.
- Tensor trucks with the All Terrain geometry, such as the aluminum trucks or some magnesium lights, are 55mm high and belong to the high trucks. Here you have room for wheels with up to 58mm diameter.
If you want to use lower Tensor trucks with bigger wheels on your setup, you can always fall back on riser pads.
A visionary builds his truck: Rodney Mullen & Tensor
Rodney Mullen is also known far beyond the fringes of the skateboarding scene and is considered a pioneer of freestyle skateboarding, founder of street skating and inventor of the Kickflip. With Tensor, Mullen realized his ideas of a skateboard truck in 2000 and brings his progressive thinking to the brand to this day.
The Tensor Skate Team around Mullen can also be considered well-known and leads some names like Daewon Song, Joey Brezinski, Zered Basset, Andrew Brophy and Cody McEntire.
