In the late 1990s, Californian skate punk finally entered the mainstream. Bands such as Blink 182, Green Day, Sum 41 and The Offspring were on everyone's lips and significantly influenced the popular style at the time. Because skateboarding and punk rock have always been closely linked, it was no wonder that many of the musicians skated themselves or at least adjusted to the clothing style of skaters.
