Few things. First, the 3D effect of the overlaid transparent checkerboard graphic is super sick, and really surprised me in a positive sense (not a huge fan of the purple ply in the middle though). Second, I am super happy I never have to worry again about which side is the nose or the tail (+ I am sure this will improve the lifespan of my deck). Third, and I am not sure what it is (and it is probably more a matter of taste and getting used to), but my pop felt less ‘poppy’ on this Opera deck compared to my previous Foundation deck; it could be because my Foundation deck had a shorter wheelbase and longer nose+tail. EDIT: on my third session with this board I swapped my trucked from Slappy to Ace to reduce the wheelbase, this solved the pop issue. However, with regards to durability: boy was I wrong! I did a bunch of nose stalls and my nose chipped; a chunk of 2 plies deep, 2 by 1 cm chipped right off. Not sure if this is a manufacturing error or just bad luck, but I never had this with any other deck.
