The height is good and protects from wheelbites, but I think they are too hard for shock pads. They are probably riser pads.

I can't imagine how people can ride without them! What I want to say that these pads are must have! Landing with them installed is like another level of skating! This price and functionality is worth it!

The material feels harder then most shock pads/ risers. I did not ride them though, so can't say for performance wise. Otherwise seemed good.
