Girl Skateboards at skatedeluxe
Girl Skateboards has been providing high-quality skateboard decks, hard goods, t-shirts and more since 1993. After almost 30 years in the business, Girl Skateboards is one of the oldest, but also most popular skateboard brands. This is due in part to Girl skate deck designs, the top-notch team, and Girl's laid-back attitude.
Girl Skateboards decks: guaranteed pop with the Girl OG Logo
You can easily spot Girl Skate decks by their iconic Girl logo. The pictographic design simply comes from a toilet sign and is still part of most of Girl Skateboards' deck designs today. The 93 Til Pro decks, which you can shop online at skatedeluxe, are especially popular among skaters for their simple look and are available in new colours and variations every season.
A board from Girl is always a safe bet - whether you prefer to skate street, park or ramps. This is also due to the whole range of shapes that the brand's decks come in. If you know exactly what you're looking for, you can simply check our product descriptions before buying your new Girl deck. They'll give you all the measurements as well as the respective Girl shape.
If you're looking for a deck that keeps its pop for a long time, we recommend the Pop Secret boards from Girl. Here, seven slightly thinner layers of maple wood are combined with a layer of resin-stripped carbon fibre. You can recognize the Girl Pop Secret decks by their name and the striped graphic on the top veneer.
Besides skate decks from Girl, you can always get the latest Girl Skateboards clothing in the skatedeluxe skate shop: from t-shirts to hoodies with the OG logo you can find everything you need for your outfit.
The founding of Girl Skateboards
In the early 90s, Mike Carroll and Rick Howard skated for Plan B Skateboards. During one tour, the two got to talking and spun the idea of a joint skateboard brand that would focus on fun. A short time later, Girl Skateboards was born and started its triumphal journey through the skate scene.
Howard and Carroll's former boss, World Industries owner Steve Rocco, was not a fan of the newly founded brand and tried his best to slow down Girl's success. However, his efforts were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Girl released "Goldfish" (1994), the first of many videos that would contribute to the brand's popularity with their witty skits and groundbreaking skateboarding.
Girl Films International - Videos that have shaped generations
Whether it's Guy Mariano's part in Mouse or Eric Koston's part in Yeah Right - videos by Girl Skateboards contain some legendary moments in skate video history. Without question, Spike Jonze is also responsible for this: he has shaped the look of skateboard videos to this day with his visionary camera work and has even won Oscars for his cinematic work.
The most recent video, Doll (2020), is already a classic, as are other iconic Girl Skateboards films. These include, for example, Mouse (1996), Yeah Right (2003) or Pretty Sweet (2012), a full-length in collaboration with Chocolate Skateboards. Former team riders such as Paul Rodriguez, Alex Olson, Brian Anderson, Guy Mariano or Eric Koston are of course also largely responsible for the success of the videos and Girl Skateboards as a brand.
The Girl Skate Team - New Standards
Even though Guy Mariano and Eric Koston no longer ride for Girl Skateboards, they have shaped generations of skaters with their skating. Their legacy is carried on by today's Girl Skateboards Team. This is where young talents and established scene greats come together, like Rick McCrank, Sean Malto, Rowan Davis, Cory Kennedy, Andrew Brophy, Tyler "Manchild" Pacheco, Simon Bannerot, Griffin Gass, Niels Bennett or Breana Geering.
Whether it's rough street spots, dusty backyard pools or shiny plazas: on every terrain, the Girl team riders prove that they and the skateboard decks from Girl are some of the best in the world.
