North Brigade Skatepark – Cologne Re-Opening May, 09.

123 days, 12 craftsmen from 6 nations, 1.435.000 kg of concrete and 3.200m² of space to shred. After the 25th anniversary in 2014 the all new North Brigade Skate Park in Cologne (GER) will officially reopen on May, 09. 2015 followed by the German VANS Shop Riot on May, 10. 2015.

After 25 years the well-known and venerable North Brigade Skatepark in Cologne needed a face-lift to get back to its glorious times in the 1990s and 2000s. And this face-lift really packs a punch.

Cologne, Germany and Europe now have a new state of the art skate park with lots of tradition that is really worth checking out. 3.200m² of space to ride and a complete concrete design planned by current and former pro skaters like Rune Glifberg, Louis Taubert and Veith Kilberth, define the North Brigade as one the biggest and most modern skate parks in Europe. And as you might have already noticed this park impersonates 100 % of progressive skateboarding…

After 123 days with 14.760 hours of work, the park could finally be finished thanks to the support of skatedeluxe, VANS, Red Bull, a Cologne bank and the local politics. The new highlight of German and European skateboarding will be inaugurated on the weekend of May, 09. and 10. 2015.
On Saturday there will be the ceremonial opening presented by the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, sessions open for all skaters, a bowl demo with international pro skaters of VANS as well as best trick contests presented by VANS and skatedeluxe.
On Sunday the German VANS Shop Riot Contest will guarantee lots of skateboarding highlights as the German shop teams battle each other for the win. The skatedeluxe Team with Willow, Denny Pham, Ben Dillinger and Christoph Radtke will of course take part in this!

The entry for both events is free. So grab your board, come to Cologne and enjoy a weekend full of skateboarding!
