A Fakie Disaster is basically a reverse Rock to Fakie. Thus, the word „Fakie“ already says that you’re going backwards while performing the trick.
So you approach the quarter pipe backwards instead of forwards, and you come out forwards instead of backwards. This one is an absolute basic when it comes to transition tricks and every skateboarder should have this on the menu.

1. Approach the quarter with enough speed, so your trucks can go over the coping but not too fast to avoid getting popped out to far in the beginning.
2. There is just one little secret to Fakie Disasters: When you approach the quarter pipe Fakie, put your back foot in the pocket of the tail.
3. You’re doing this because for a Fakie Disaster you don’t really want to pop your board but give it a little push forward when your wheels touch the coping.
So the board goes up a bit above the coping and you can lock into the Disaster.
