FS 50-50

Unlike ledge skating, this time Frontside 50-50’s are more difficult than Backside ones. You’ll might have a tough time until you get it right because it’s a bit complicated to balance the grind correctly and avoid falling off the coping. It might also be a good idea to be able to do Frontside 5-0’s before learning Frontside 50-50’s.

Trick Tip Step By Step: FS 50-50

1. Since you want to grind, you should approach the quarter with a little bit more speed and in a slight angle.

Put your back foot in the middle of your tail slightly closer to the bolts of your back truck, while your front foot should be placed between the middle of your board and the bolts of your front truck.

2. Just before your front truck reaches the coping, lean back a bit and slightly press on the tail to lift the front truck.

3. Now wait until your back truck also reaches the coping and then turn your hips to lock in the Frontside 50-50.

4. At the end, lift your front truck off the coping by lifting up slightly on the back truck and come out of the grind, turn your hips, and leave the coping down into the ramp.

5. Take care not to bent too much forward to avoid falling over your nose while dropping back into the quarter.
