Trick Tip
Nosegrind

Nosegrind is the term for grinding on a ledge using only your front truck. You can do Nosegrinds either Frontside or Backside, depending whether the obstacle is in front of you or behind you. Frontside Nosegrinds are a bit easier for most people to learn because you have the obstacle in front of you.

1. No matter which Nosegrind you want to do, try to approach the ledge almost parallel while you put your feet in an Ollie position and ollie up towards the ledge.

2. Then try to aim with your front truck onto the ledge. Here you will notice that it’s much easier to aim Frontside than Backside.

3. Try to land smoothly on the ledge.

Shift your weight on your front truck and keep your balance, so that your nose does not touch the ledge and your back truck doesn’t touch the ledge either. Use your back foot to stabilize your balance.

4. At the end push your nose a little bit forward to lift up your back truck, thereby avoiding that the tail touches the ledge when you come off the grind.

5. Try to land safely on the bolts of your trucks and roll away clean.

Nose grinds as well as krooked grinds are easier to come out of the grind with a little less speed.
